Frequently Asked Questions

What is semi permanent makeup

Semi-Permanent make up, also known as micropigmentation, is a method of tatooing pigment into the dermal layer of the skin to enhance a woman's facial features. This technique is used by ladies as a way of enhancing their appearance and saving them time sitting in front of the mirror in the morning.

Is it semi permanent or permanent?

This technique gets called both, but in reality, it should be semi permanent due to the type of pigments used and how its placed into the skin. Unlike a normal tattoo, the pigment does fade over time meaning that as your skin tone changes or trends change so can your makeup.

Who would have this treatment?

As long as you are over 18 this type of treatment is available for anyone. For the young fashion conscious who wants a strong brow game, or the more mature adult who just doesn’t have the time in the morning.

What can I have tattooed?

Here at Lea Marie Cosmetics we offer both hair stroke brows and eye lash enhancements. Each brow is designed for your face shape and coloured to match your hair and skin colour.

The brows are drawn on before the tattooing begins to make sure they are exactly what you are looking for and a hair stroke technique is used to ensure a natural but definitive effect.

DERMAL FILLERS & BOTOX

Lea Marie Cosmetics based within Glo - Hair, Beauty & Tanning in Norwich offers a selection of aesthetic treatments including lip fillers, CHEEK FILLERS, and botox.

Botox - antiwrinkle injections.

Antiwrinkle injections, often referred to as Botox, are made from a drug called botulinum toxin and are most commonly used to reduce wrinkles in the face. Botulinum toxin can be injected into various areas around the face, including forehead, crow's feet, and the areas between your eyes (frown lines) to reduce wrinkles caused by contracting muscles. Botulinum toxin reduces the movement of the muscles, causing them to relax, reducing visible lines and wrinkles.

Botulinum toxin is a prescription drug, therefore a consultation with a nurse-prescriber will be required before the treatment. Our aesthetic practitioner will arrange for this to take place at their clinic and at the same time they will discuss with you what you aim to achieve.

The treatment will take about 30 minutes to complete, and the effects of the treatment will be visible within seven to 10 days. We then complete a two-week follow-up assessment, where a top-up may be administered if the practitioner feels it is necessary.

Dermal fillers.

Dermal fillers are most commonly used to replace loss of volume in the skin or to enhance areas such as the cheeks or lips. They are made from a naturally occurring substance called hyaluronic acid, which is already present in the skin.

Lip fillers

One of our most popular treatments is a dermal lip enhancement where filler is injected into the lip to enhance, add definition and increase volume.

Cheek fillers

Dermal filler can also be used in the cheeks to reduce the effect of aging or to define the shape of the face.

Marionette lines/smile lines/nasolabial folds.

Another popular use of dermal fillers is in the lower face. These lines are often caused by loss of volume in the skin due to aging, but some people naturally have them. Dermal filler can be injected into these lines to drastically reduce their appearance.

The treatment will take around 30 mins to complete and the results will start to

Lea Marie offers free consultations to all her clients so that the process can be discussed before hand, This is a great opportunity to be able to discuss exactly how you want your lips to look as each treatment is tailored to the clients wishes.so for lip fillers in Norwich, contact us today to book your free consultation,

Frequently asked questions.

Does it hurt?

Any treatment requiring an injection is going to cause some discomfort, but we use a topical anaesthetic to numb the areas before any treatments are completed. For lip fillers, we can also perform a dental block infusion injection, much like you have at the dentist, to numb the area.

Is it dangerous?

Antiwrinkle injections/Botox and dermal fillers are not dangerous and have been around for many years. Both types of treatment are temporary, and the effect will wear off over time, although most people will continue to top these up to keep the desired effects. Antiwrinkle injections are a prescribed drug, and so you will have a medical check before the treatment with a nurse-prescriber to make sure the procedure is suitable for you. Dermal fillers are made using a substance called hyaluronic acid a naturally occurring substance that already exists within your skin, so all you are doing is adding more to the areas that may have lost volume or that need a little enhancing.

What happens after my treatment?

After your treatment, you can carry on with your day, although it's important that you do not do anything too strenuous, such as working out or running. You should not need any time off work.

What are the side effects?

Side effects are very rare, but some clients may experience subtle bruising around the areas that have been treated, but these usually fade How long will the results last?

Antiwrinkle injections/Botox will normally last around six – nine months, but dermal fillers depends on your lifestyle and your natural metabolism, but in most cases, lips will last up to six months, with cheeks around nine to 12 months.

What training have you had?
